CEI Networking & Co-Working Space
Located at the UWC Innovation Hub, offering collaborative workspaces and a certified QTCO Assessment Centre for professional assessments and bookings.
A Space Built With Purpose
There is something quietly powerful about a space that was built with purpose.
When the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) at the University of the Western Cape officially launched its new Networking and Co-Working Space on 30 September 2024, it was not just a ribbon-cutting moment. It was a statement about what UWC believes entrepreneurship can and should look like — accessible, collaborative, and community-driven.
Located at the UWC Innovation Hub on 405 Voortrekker Road in Oostersee, the space was designed specifically for CEI students and the broader local business community.
The space is designed to encourage innovation, networking, and productivity, while also serving as a certified QTCO Assessment Centre where professional assessments and related activities can be conducted.
Designed for Real Work, Real Growth
The facility itself is well-equipped and practical.
It includes:
• A 50-seat training room
• An 8-seat boardroom
• A 12-seat collaborative workspace
These spaces speak directly to the range of needs entrepreneurs have at different stages of their journey.
Whether you are pitching to investors, brainstorming with a team, or attending a workshop on financial literacy, there is room for that.
Certified QTCO Assessment Centre
The CEI Networking and Co-Working Space is recognised as a QTCO Assessment Centre, providing a professional environment where accredited assessments, evaluations, and related professional activities can take place.
Organisations, assessors, and institutions can enquire about booking the space for scheduled assessments or industry certification activities.
- Professional assessments
- Evaluation sessions
- Industry certification activities
- Organised training and assessment programmes
More Than Just a Space
But the real value of the space goes beyond the square metres. Since the launch, the CEI has used it to host a growing programme of events aimed at giving entrepreneurs real tools and real connections.
In 2025 alone, activities hosted there have included:
- Investment Readiness Workshop
- AI Beginner Workshop
- Financial Literacy Program
- DEDAT Bootcamp
- Youth Employment Summit
These are not box-ticking exercises. They are direct responses to the challenges facing small business owners and young entrepreneurs in communities that have historically been left out of mainstream economic opportunity.
